Where does a deep connection to nature originate? It’s a relevant question for an era when our existence seems to be drifting further and further from nature and a large portion of our time is spent in digital spaces.
Ghent, USA. Handbook for nature-based learning.
The U.S.-based Nature Institute was founded with the specific aim of providing resources that foster a deeper understanding of the natural world and the inclination towards responsibility and stewardship that emerges from it. In keeping with this mission, the Institute has published an English-language guide on sustainability education. It is available free of charge on their website. The guide was designed primarily for educators seeking to integrate nature-based approaches into their pedagogical practice. It is organized to address different levels of education, from early childhood on up, and features a blend of theoretical background information, practical exercises, and conceptual frameworks.
